However, thou shall panic no more, for thou have just laid your eyes on the ultimate solution to most common hair and scalp related problem you may encounter.
And since people usually can't wait to fix the problem, let's start without delay:
- ROSEMARY (Rosmarinus Officinalis
Rosemary is an extremely versatile and useful herb, both in the kitchen and in the pharmacopeia: It is particularly helpful to help grow stronger hair by promoting circulation in the scalp.
It is also said to prevent premature graying of the hair, relieve itchiness and fight dandruff.
2. CALENDULA (Calendula Officinalis)
Calendula has been used for centuries to help with skin and hair problems. Thanks to their amazing restorative properties, Calendula flowers promote a healthy scalp for hair to grow again.
Mystic and founder of German scientific natural history Saint Hildegard of Bingen mentioned the healing powers of Calendula in one of her manuscripts, back in the 12th century.
3. LAVENDER (Lavendula Angustifolia)
Lavender is a very gentle plant that has been used for centuries in Mediterranean traditional medicine for a wide range of ailments. Lavender essential oil is one of the only essential oils pregnant women, babies and little children can use safely.
Why is Lavender so commonly used in hair care?
- It promotes hair growth by healing the scalp, preventing dandruff, itchiness and infection and by relieving inflammation of the scalp.
- It prevents or kill head lice and nits the natural way (invaluable to teachers and those working with children to keep those pesky little things at bay!)
- Its calming and relaxing effects by aromatherapy action are well known and proven.
4. CADE (Juniperus Oxycedrus)
Cade is originally from the South of Europe and North Africa. It’s been traditionally used for centuries to treat skin and hair problems in both humans and animals, especially horses.
Essential oils from the Juniperus genus are well known to be extremely powerful allies to fight eczema and psoriasis (they drain toxins out of the body and mind). Cade is considered to be the best of all. Because of its extremely powerful detoxifying properties which sometimes trigger a healing crisis, Cade essential oil has often been mistakenly considered as an allergen.
Cade has a strong smoky scent and promotes healthy hair growth by restoring and protecting the scalp.
5. WHEAT GERM (Triticum Vulgare)
Wheat germ oil is a very well-known natural product for skin and hair conditioning.
It is incredibly rich in Linoleic acid (nourishing) and Vitamin E (antioxydant), which makes it the ultimate rejuvenation hair and scalp treatment!
PREPARE YOUR OWN HAIR AND SCALP SERUM:
90ml extra virgin olive oil
10ml wheat germ oil
10 drops calendula infused oil
4 drops lavender essential oil
3 drops rosemary essential oil
3 drops cade (or juniper berry if you can't put your hand on cade) essential oil
Mix up all the ingredients and keep in a dark brown glass bottle. If you find the oil to make your hair heavy and greasy, try to store your oil-based serum in a spray bottle and just lightly "pshhh" some on your lengths.
Massage a few drop onto your scalp every day. If your scalp isn't inflamed, brush your hair and scalp with a natural bristle hair brush to stimulate blood circulation.
